About Us.

Wills & Heritage is an established firm covering Wiltshire, Bath, Bristol & Somerset, Gloucestershire, Berkshire and surrounds. We deal extensively with financial professionals and can provide coverage throughout England & Wales. We are members of and regulated by the Institute of Professional Willwriters (IPW) and pride ourselves in the professional service we provide to clients. By virtue of our membership of the IPW, we must operate within a strict Code of Practice which is approved by the Trading Standards Institute (TSI). In addition, we carry substantial levels of professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Irrespective of your age or the value of your estate, putting your affairs in order and planning for the future is one of the most important tasks you are likely to undertake. To die without having planned and made a Will can result in untold financial tax and other problems for those you leave behind. Making a Will sets out your wishes to protect your loved ones and ensures that your estate is distributed as you want, giving you peace of mind for the future.

Wills & Heritage - About Us

Our Services.

Wills & Heritage offer consultations, either daytime or evening, in the comfort and privacy of your own home, or at your place of work if more convenient. It is usually a two stage process: the first to discuss your requirements, to provide advice regarding options available to you and outline our fee structure. We then establish the most appropriate way forward for your requirements and instructions are then taken in order to draft your documents.

The second visit will take you through the documents produced and ensure they are signed and witnessed correctly. A fee is only paid on completion of the documents to your satisfaction.

Why make a Will?

Decide who inherits your possessions, property and money.

If you don’t have a Will, the Government decides this for you and it is done according to The Laws of Intestacy, rules which were drawn up in the 1920s. This means that your spouse (husband or wife) might end up sharing your wealth with your children or parents or brothers and sisters. If you are not married, it almost certainly means that you partner may get nothing at all.

By having a Will, you stipulate exactly how your Estate (your possessions and assets) is distributed and in what proportions. What is the point of accumulating it all over your lifetime if someone else decides how it is to be given away? By making a Will, you may also avoid unnecessary arguments and squabbles between family members and relatives.

“It is too expensive...”
“Everything I own will automatically go to my spouse or my children...
“My assets are too insignificant...

Wills & Heritage - Make A Will

The only certain way to ensure that your spouse, partner, children or relative inherits what you intend is by making a Will.

If you already have a Will, ask yourself the following questions:

In essence:

A Will gives you control
A Will gives you options
A Will means that you can give other people opportunities
